ORA Borealis
Acropora sp.
Recommended from the shop
Care Summary
ORA Borealis is a tier-two Acropora strain from ORA with a cool-toned, two-part palette. Its signature colours are a blue-green body with blue tips, so the growing ends read bluer than the branches beneath them. That subtle shift from blue-green to blue gives the colony depth under reef lighting and separates it from solid-blue staghorn and tort strains in the same display.
Care
This is an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system. Provide high light and high, strong random flow, and build care around alkalinity stability, with calcium and magnesium held steady and water quality kept consistent. Like other named ORA strains, it responds best to a settled routine: regular testing, even dosing and gradual changes only. Stable conditions help both body colour and tip contrast, while repeated swings risk dull colour and stalled growth.
Placement and growth
Position it at the top of the aquascape where it receives strong light and varied, turbulent flow on all sides. Growth is moderate once a frag has settled and begun to encrust, so allow room for a branching colony to develop without touching neighbours. It is peaceful in temperament; the planning concern is shade, especially from faster corals above or beside it. Fix it in a permanent spot and let it establish without frequent moves.
