ORA Frogskin

ORA Frogskin is a tier-two Acropora strain from ORA, named for the textured look that sets it apart from smoother strains. Its signature colours are a green-yellow, frogskin-textured body with purple tips, an unusual combination of surface character and colour contrast. The textured body catches light differently along the branches, while the purple tips mark the growing ends clearly.

Care

Keep this advanced coral in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow. Alkalinity stability is the priority, backed by steady calcium and magnesium and consistent nutrient management. Strong flow helps keep the textured surface clean and the tissue healthy. Avoid abrupt changes in lighting or chemistry, and give any adjustment time to show its effect before making another. A stable, mature system offers the best chance for the green-yellow body and purple tips to show together.

Placement and growth

Place it at the top of the rockwork in bright light and turbulent, varied flow, with open space for a moderate-growing colony. Growth is moderate after establishment, so plan spacing for a developed colony rather than a new frag. It is peaceful, so neighbours matter mainly as sources of shade and crowding. Choose a permanent, well-lit position where the textured branches receive flow from more than one direction and are not overshadowed as the display grows in.
