ORA Miami Orchid
Acropora sp.
Recommended from the shop
Care Summary
ORA Miami Orchid is a tier-three Acropora strain from ORA in staghorn form. Its signature colour is a lavender-purple carried through the staghorn branches, a softer purple than the deep tones of many named strains. That lavender character gives it a distinct place in a collection, offering purple without the heaviness of darker blue-purple corals.
Care
This advanced staghorn belongs in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow through the branches. Alkalinity stability is essential, with calcium and magnesium kept steady and nutrients consistent. Regular testing and even dosing support healthy growth and help the lavender-purple colour hold. As with other Acropora, avoid sudden shifts in light or water chemistry, and let the coral acclimate gradually to any increase in intensity.
Placement and growth
Give it a top placement in direct light and strong, varied flow, and leave generous space for antler-like branches to spread. Growth is moderate once settled, so a colony can develop into a noticeable feature of the upper aquascape. It is peaceful, but its lower branches are vulnerable to shading if neighbours grow over them. Mount it permanently in an open position and manage surrounding growth before light becomes the limiting factor.
