Palmer's Blue Millepora
Acropora millepora
Care Summary
Palmer's Blue Millepora is a tier-two Acropora millepora strain from the Palmer lineage, grown for a solid, saturated blue in millepora form. Its signature colour is a solid royal blue across the colony, a strong and unusually uniform tone for this growth form. Millepora strains are valued for their clustered, fuzzy appearance when polyps are extended, and a royal blue example brings that texture and colour together in one colony.
Care
Keep this advanced coral in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow moving through the clustered branches. Alkalinity stability is essential, with calcium and magnesium held steady and nutrients consistent. Good flow is especially important for millepora form, helping keep the dense branch structure clean. Stable conditions support polyp extension and help the royal blue colour remain solid rather than patchy; make any changes in light or dosing gradually.
Placement and growth
Place it at the top of the rockwork in bright light and turbulent flow, allowing room for a moderate-growing colony to thicken and spread. Growth is moderate once settled, so plan spacing for a developed millepora cluster rather than a single frag branch. It is peaceful, but close neighbours can shade its lower areas as it fills in. A permanent, open top position with flow from varied directions suits its form best.
