Sapphire Millepora

Sapphire Millepora is a tier-three Acropora millepora strain of Australian lineage, named for the gemstone tone it carries. Its signature colour is a sapphire blue across the millepora form, giving the clustered branches a rich blue presence when the colony is healthy and polyps are extended. It offers a similar blue focus to other named blue millepora strains while standing as its own Australian-line entry in a collection.

Care

This advanced millepora needs a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow. Alkalinity stability is the priority parameter, supported by steady calcium and magnesium and consistent water quality. Strong, varied flow helps keep the dense colony clean and supports even growth through the cluster. Avoid sudden changes in lighting or chemistry, test regularly and correct dosing in small steps so the sapphire colour and tissue health are not set back by swings.

Placement and growth

Mount it in a top position with direct light and turbulent movement on all sides, leaving space for a moderate-growing colony to develop its clustered shape. Growth is moderate after establishment, so allow more lateral room than a frag initially needs. It is peaceful, so manage placement around light and crowding rather than aggression. Fix it in a permanent spot high on the rockwork and protect it from being overshadowed by faster SPS neighbours.
