SC Orange Passion

SC Orange Passion is the Sexy Corals version of the famous Orange Passion name, and one of the most celebrated Acropora strains in the hobby. Its signature is brilliant orange polyps over a green body — a combination so distinctive that the name has become shorthand for that exact look. Well-grown colonies hold the orange strongly, and the contrast against the green tissue is what has kept this strain in demand among serious acro keepers.

Care

This is an advanced coral for a mature SPS system only. It needs high light and strong, random flow, and it rewards keepers who prioritise alkalinity stability above everything else. Keep calcium and magnesium balanced, nutrients low but present, and parameters consistent day to day. Sudden swings are far more dangerous than a slightly imperfect but stable number, so test regularly and adjust dosing in small steps.

Placement and growth

Place it at the top of the aquascape in the brightest, highest-flow zone, and mount it firmly so the base can encrust. Growth is moderate once established. It is peaceful toward other corals, but it still needs clear space to branch and to avoid being shaded or stung. Strong orange polyp colour and steady encrusting growth confirm the placement is working.

Identification notes

In the hobby this strain is often attributed to Acropora tenuis, but that attribution is unverified. It should be regarded as a hobby identification only, and the coral is listed here simply as Acropora sp.
