Care Summary

TSA Rainbow Fusion is a Top Shelf Aquatics Acropora strain kept for its rainbow colouring — multiple hues blended across the branches and polyps rather than a single flat tone. In a thriving colony the colours seem to merge and shift along each branch, which is exactly the fusion effect the name points to. It is the kind of piece that rewards a stable system, because the full range of colour only shows when conditions stay right for weeks at a time.

Care

Keep this as an advanced Acropora in a mature SPS system, with high light and strong, random flow. Alkalinity stability is critical; hold alkalinity, calcium and magnesium steady, test on a schedule, and keep nutrients low but not zero. Rainbow colouration is usually a lagging indicator of good husbandry, so patience matters — avoid reacting to every small shift, and make lighting or chemistry changes slowly and one at a time.

Placement and growth

It belongs at the top of the rockwork in peak light and turbulent flow. Mount it securely, let it encrust, and expect moderate growth as it branches. Peaceful in nature, it still needs clear space so neighbouring corals cannot shade it or sting it. The reward for the right spot is the full colour blend developing across new growth.

Identification notes

In the hobby this strain is often described as a rainbow tenuis and attributed to Acropora tenuis, but that attribution is unverified. It should be treated as a hobby identification only, and the coral is listed here simply as Acropora sp.
