Tyree Lime in the Sky

Tyree Lime in the Sky is a tier-two staghorn Acropora strain from the Steve Tyree and Greg Carroll line. Its signature colour is an electric lime-green carried through the staghorn form, one of the brightest green presentations among named Acropora. That vivid lime tone gives a colony immediate presence and provides a strong contrast beside blue, purple and pink neighbours in an upper SPS zone.

Care

Keep this advanced staghorn in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow through its branches. Alkalinity stability is the core requirement, alongside steady calcium and magnesium and consistent nutrient levels. Strong, stable light supports the electric lime colour, but intensity should be increased gradually after placement. Regular testing and even, measured dosing will protect growth and colour better than chasing short-term changes in appearance.

Placement and growth

Give it a top placement in direct light and turbulent, varied flow, with generous vertical and lateral space for staghorn growth. Growth is moderate once established, so a settled colony can become a large feature and should be spaced accordingly. It is peaceful, but its own lower branches can be shaded if neighbours crowd in. Mount it permanently in an open upper position and maintain clearance around it as the aquascape matures.
