Vivid Insanity

Vivid Insanity is a tier-three Acropora strain from Vivid Aquariums, defined by a rainbow, multi-colour presentation. Where single-tone strains are judged on saturation, this one's signature is variety: multiple colours showing across the colony at once, giving it a shifting appearance under reef lighting. It sits naturally alongside other Vivid lines for keepers who collect the originator's multicolour strains.

Care

Keep this advanced Acropora in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow. Alkalinity stability is the foundation of care, with calcium and magnesium maintained steadily and nutrient levels kept consistent. Rainbow colouration is most likely to show when water and lighting are stable over long periods, so avoid frequent adjustments. Test regularly, dose evenly and change light intensity only gradually, allowing the colony time to respond before judging the result.

Placement and growth

Give it a top placement in bright light and turbulent, varied flow, leaving room for a moderate-growing branching colony. Growth is moderate once settled, so space it for its mature footprint and keep taller neighbours from shadowing it. It is peaceful, so crowding and light competition are the main placement concerns. Mount it permanently in an open upper position where the full colony receives light and its multi-colour character can be seen from the main viewing angle.
