WWC Cookie Monster

WWC Cookie Monster is a World Wide Corals selection of Acropora sarmentosa, a species known for its tubular, bottlebrush-style corallites. The strain's signature colours are a purple-blue body lit up by bright polyps, a pairing that reads clearly even from a distance. The sarmentosa growth form gives colonies a distinctive texture, with polyps held prominently along the branches rather than tucked flat against them.

Care

This is an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system. It needs high light and strong, random flow — flow matters doubly here, because good water movement keeps the dense corallite structure clean and the polyps extended. Keep alkalinity stable above all, with calcium and magnesium in balance, nutrients controlled but present, and changes made slowly. Test regularly and let stability, not chasing numbers, guide adjustments.

Placement and growth

Place it at the top of the rockwork in the brightest, highest-flow area. Growth is moderate, and a secure mount will let it encrust and build its branching, bottlebrush form. It is peaceful, but it deserves clear space: shading dulls the purple-blue body quickly, and aggressive neighbours should be kept at a safe distance.
