WWC Heartbreaker
Acropora sp.
Recommended from the shop
Care Summary
WWC Heartbreaker is a World Wide Corals Acropora strain recognised by its pink to red body and contrasting tips. The colour break between the body and the growing ends is the whole appeal: branches deepen toward pink-red while the tips stand apart, so an established colony has a lively, two-tone presence. It is a good example of the polished, colour-first strains WWC is known for selecting and propagating.
Care
Treat Heartbreaker as an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system. High light and strong, random flow are required, and alkalinity stability is the foundation — swings will cost colour first and tissue if they continue. Keep calcium and magnesium in balance, nutrients controlled but not stripped to zero, and test on a regular schedule. Raise light intensity slowly for new frags rather than starting at full power.
Placement and growth
It does best at the top of the rockwork, in the strongest light and flow available. Expect moderate growth once the frag has encrusted onto its mount. Although peaceful, it needs open room to branch and should be kept clear of corals that could shade it or sting it. Brightening tips and steady polyp extension are good signs it is happy in place.
