WWC Terra Red

WWC Terra Red is a World Wide Corals Acropora strain chosen for depth of colour: a deep, earthy red that holds across the body rather than appearing only at the tips. True reds are among the hardest colours to keep saturated in Acropora, which is what makes a strain that carries this much red worthwhile. Under strong light the colour deepens further, and an established colony makes a strong focal point among blues and greens.

Care

An advanced coral, Terra Red needs a mature SPS system with high light and strong, random flow. Alkalinity stability is the priority — keep it steady, along with calcium and magnesium, and hold nutrients in a controlled range without stripping them to zero. Red colour is often the first thing lost to instability or excess nutrients, so test routinely and make any correction a small, single change. Acclimate new frags to full light gradually.

Placement and growth

Mount it at the top of the rockwork where light and flow are strongest, and fix it securely so it can encrust and branch at its moderate pace. It is peaceful toward neighbours, but give it open space so it is neither shaded nor within reach of aggressive corals. Deepening red colour and active growing tips are the signs the spot suits it.
