Care Summary

Bartlett's Anthias is one of the more forgiving anthias species for home aquarists; it is less prone to wasting disease than many of its relatives if given consistent feeding. Keep a harem of one male to three to five females in 75+ gallons; a solo specimen will be chronically stressed, stop eating, and decline within weeks. Feed frozen mysis and enriched brine three times a day minimum; anthias have fast metabolisms and skipping feedings leads to rapid weight loss that is difficult to reverse. Moderate flow and open swimming space in the upper third of the tank keep them comfortable; they will color up brilliantly in good conditions with consistent feeding.
