Care Summary
Dispar Anthias is a peaceful schooling fish that looks stunning in groups; keep a harem of one male to four to six females in 75+ gallons for the best visual effect. Like all anthias they have a fast metabolism; feed them enriched frozen mysis and brine at least twice a day, preferably three times, or individuals will waste despite looking fine week to week. They prefer moderate flow and open water in the upper mid-column; place them in a tank where they have clear swimming lanes away from aggressive wrasses or boisterous tangs. If the male dies, the dominant female will sex-change to male within a few weeks; this natural process is fascinating to observe and maintains the social structure automatically.
