The Desjardini Sailfin Tang is a genuine show piece that can reach 15 inches; plan for 150+ gallons with strong flow and lots of open swimming space for a healthy adult. Juveniles are available small and look incredible in mid-size tanks, but do not let that fool you; this fish grows quickly and an overgrown sailfin in a 75-gallon is a sad sight. Feed nori clips and herbivore blends daily plus algae wafers; their large body size means they need substantial food volume to maintain weight and color. The tall dorsal sail is a showstopper when the fish is fully extended and relaxed; you will only see it fully spread in a tank with enough space for the fish to feel comfortable.
