Care Summary

The Ocellaris Clownfish is the most popular and widely available clownfish in the hobby; captive-bred specimens are exceptionally hardy and one of the best first marine fish for beginners. House it in 20+ gallons; a single specimen or bonded pair does fine in a nano reef and will readily host hammer corals, frogspawn, and bubble tip anemones when an actual anemone is not available. Feed frozen mysis, brine, and quality pellets daily; it is an omnivore that accepts virtually everything and maintains robust health on a varied diet. Always choose captive-bred; wild-caught Ocellaris are collected from reefs that can sustain the pressure, but CB fish are hardier, eat better, and support sustainable practices in the hobby.
