Care Summary
The Percula Clownfish is nearly identical to the Ocellaris in care and hardiness; true Perculas have thicker black margins on the white bars and slightly more intense orange coloration. House it in 20+ gallons; a pair does well in nano reefs and will host hammer coral, frogspawn, or bubble tip anemones readily, especially captive-bred specimens conditioned to tank-raised hosts. Feed frozen mysis, brine, and quality pellets daily; it is an omnivore that maintains robust health on variety and is genuinely one of the easiest saltwater fish to feed well. Always choose captive-bred; the wild collection of Percula clowns from places like Papua New Guinea has declined significantly thanks to the availability of CB fish, and CB fish are simply better animals for the aquarium.
