Care Summary

Gracilaria (Dragon Tongue / Grape Caulerpa alternative) is a popular red macroalgae prized both for nutrient export and as a live food for tangs and rabbitfish. It grows rapidly under moderate to high lighting and medium flow. Harvest regularly — once a week is ideal — to keep nutrient export high and prevent it from going reproductive. It does not go sexual the way Caulerpa does, making it safer for display tanks. A staple refugium algae for reefers who also keep herbivorous fish.
