Laurencia is a compact red macroalgae with distinctive cylindrical, club-tipped branches. It grows slowly and is better suited as a display macroalgae than a heavy nutrient exporter. Provide moderate lighting and gentle to moderate flow. It tends to remain in dense, tidy clumps and rarely becomes invasive. Some fish will graze on it, though it is less palatable than Gracilaria. A good choice for a mixed macroalgae display or refugium where aesthetics matter.
