Care Summary
Saw Caulerpa (Caulerpa serrulata) produces flat, serrated blade-like fronds along creeping runners. It is a fast-growing species that excels at nutrient export in the refugium. Like all Caulerpa, it carries the risk of going sexual — pale, gelatinous fronds signal imminent spawning; remove the entire plant immediately and do a water change. In a display tank it can be kept grazed by tangs and rabbitfish. Provide moderate to high lighting and trim runners regularly to prevent it smothering corals.
