Care Summary

Galaxea fascicularis is one of the most visually striking LPS you can keep — tubular corallites tipped with white that look like a field of tiny stars — and one of the most aggressively territorial. Bottom placement under moderate light with medium flow; it handles a range of conditions but performs best with consistent, stable water chemistry rather than nutrient extremes. The aggression is not subtle — Galaxy extends sweeper tentacles that can reach six or more inches at night, and it will systematically destroy anything in its path; this coral needs serious spacing from neighbors or its own isolated rock. Feed weekly with meaty foods to support its active metabolism, and run activated carbon to manage the allelopathic compounds it releases in addition to its physical aggression.
