Care Summary
Platygyra lamellina is a classic hard brain coral with tightly winding valleys and a dense, robust skeleton — one of the more durable brain corals available in the hobby. Bottom placement under moderate light with medium flow; it prefers stable, consistent conditions and doesn't ask for anything extreme in terms of lighting intensity. Alkalinity fluctuations are the primary stressor — keep alk stable and this coral does very little wrong; let it swing and you'll see tissue pulling back from the valley walls within days. Biweekly target feeding with mysis or small meaty foods keeps tissue thick and supports marginally faster skeletal growth — worthwhile with a species this slow.
