Illuminati
Zoanthus sp.
Also known as: WWC Illuminati
Care Summary
Illuminati is a Zoanthus strain with a yellow-green face marked by red and orange speckle, and it is known for blue mouth variants that add a hidden third accent to some polyps. The warm speckle over the chartreuse base gives colonies a glowing, almost radioactive richness, and the occasional blue mouth makes close inspection rewarding. It is a tier 2 strain, a modern collector name for keepers drawn to yellow-green bases with hot detailing.
Care
Keep Illuminati low to mid in the tank under medium light, with medium flow through the mat. Like its relatives it wants measurable nutrients; zoanthids sulk in ultra-clean water, closing up and losing the fullness that shows off the speckle. Maintain stable alkalinity and a settled placement. Growth is moderate, so expect a steady build rather than a rush, with colour and pattern strengthening as the colony matures and crowds in.
Keeping and spread
Illuminati spreads by mat growth at a moderate rate, expanding from the original frag outward. Give the colony roughly 2 in of space, because the mat will eventually occupy it and its moderate aggression means slower neighbours in its path can be smothered by overgrowth. To frag, cut the mat cleanly between polyps, mount the separated piece on a plug or rubble, and return it to similar light and flow to heal.
