Pink Panther
Zoanthus sp.
Also known as: Pink Panthers
Care Summary
Pink Panther is a Zoanthus strain of solid hot pink across both the face and the skirt, an unbroken, vivid pink that gives colonies a bold, almost fluorescent block of colour. With no ring, speckle or centre contrast, its appeal is pure saturation — few zoanthids offer pink this uniform. It is a Tier 2 hobby name, familiar and popular as a colour anchor in mixed zoanthid gardens.
Care
Rated easy to keep, it requires medium lighting and medium flow in the bottom to middle of the tank. Standard zoanthid care applies: measurable nutrients, since zoanthids sulk in ultra-clean water, stable alkalinity, and flow through the mat to prevent detritus settling between polyps. It holds its hot pink best under consistent lighting once fully settled, so avoid frequent moves after placement.
Keeping and spread
Growth is moderate and mat-forming, spreading by encrusting adjacent rock from the frag edge. Leave roughly 2 in of space, as the advancing mat can smother slower neighbours. Aggression is moderate. Fragging follows the usual method — cut the mat between polyps, mount the section to a plug, and give it medium light and flow to heal and bud new polyps.
