Pink Zipper
Zoanthus sp.
Also known as: Pink Zippers
Care Summary
Pink Zipper is a Zoanthus strain named for the pale, zipper-like radial lines that run across its hot pink face. That fine linear detail is what separates it from plainer pink zoas: up close the pattern really does look stitched, while from a distance the colony reads as a bright, clean sheet of pink. It is a tier 1 strain, popular because the colour is cheerful, the pattern is unmistakable, and the polyps stay neat as the mat fills in.
Care
This is an easy zoanthid for low to mid placement under medium light and medium flow through the mat. It prefers water with measurable nutrients rather than a stripped, ultra-clean system, where zoanthids tend to sulk and stop opening fully. Stable alkalinity matters more than chasing perfect numbers. Once settled it is a fast grower, so give it a stable spot and avoid moving it while the first new polyps are forming.
Keeping and spread
Pink Zipper spreads by extending its mat across rock or a plug, adding polyps at the edge. Leave roughly 2 in of space around the colony; with moderate aggression and fast growth it can cover ground quickly and smother slower neighbours if it reaches them. Fragging is straightforward: cut the mat between polyps, peel or lift the section, and glue it down where you want a new patch to start.
