Care Summary

The Annularis Angel is a stunning fish that tops out around 12 inches, so budget for a 150-gallon minimum and plan for a system that can grow with it. Juveniles look completely different from adults, showing white rings on a blue body that slowly transforms into the yellow and blue adult pattern over 2-3 years. Like most large angels it will sample coral polyps and clam mantles; this fish belongs in a FOWLR or very robust mixed reef where you can accept some grazing losses. Feed it a varied diet of high-quality angel-specific frozen foods and nori daily; a hungry large angel becomes a destructive large angel very quickly.
