Majestic Angelfish

Care Summary

The Majestic Angelfish has a striking deep blue body with yellow facial markings and orange lips; it is one of the most visually impressive large angels available but is finicky to establish. Plan for 150+ gallons; majestics are active swimmers and need substantial open water to thrive, becoming lethargic and dull in systems that are too small. Feed sponge-based angel blends, mysis, nori, and varied frozen foods daily; this species can be stubborn about accepting prepared foods initially, so offer variety from the first day. It will nip at LPS, zoanthids, and clam mantles; best kept in a FOWLR or a very large mixed reef where some coral attrition is acceptable and the fish can be fed heavily.
