Care Summary
The Clown Tang is one of the most aggressive fish in the entire tang family; it will attack and injure other tangs regardless of tank size, and will draw blood with the scalpel spines at its tail. It needs 200+ gallons with vigorous flow; this fish comes from high-energy reef crests and will develop chronic stress and HLLE in anything smaller or calmer. Do not attempt to keep it with other tangs unless your system is genuinely massive; even in large tanks the Clown Tang will often single out a victim and pursue it relentlessly. Feed nori clips and herbivore blends daily; get it eating aggressively before introducing it to a display, and add it last after all other fish are established.
