Care Summary

The Whitecheek has a reputation for aggression toward other tangs that is completely earned, and you need to plan around that before buying one. Introduce it after your other tangs are settled, or you will spend weeks watching it bully everything in the tank into submission. The white cheek patch and yellow spine look great on a fat, well-fed specimen, and the colors intensify noticeably when the fish is comfortable and healthy. It is a legitimate tang choice for people who want something less common than a yellow or blue hippo, but go in with eyes open about its temperament.
