Care Summary
Red Bubble Algae (Botryocladia species) forms clusters of small, deep red to maroon spherical bubbles on rocks and surfaces. Unlike green bubble algae (Valonia), it is not a nuisance — it grows slowly and remains in contained clusters. It is a striking display macroalgae that requires no special care beyond moderate lighting and flow. Generally left alone by herbivores. Does not spread aggressively. One of the more desirable 'accidental' additions to a reef tank.
