Care Summary
Peacock's Tail (Padina species) is a brown macroalgae with distinctive concentric rings and a fan-shaped form. It thrives in moderate to high lighting and moderate flow. While it is generally harmless and can be kept as a display species, it can spread aggressively under high-nutrient conditions. In a well-fed tank, monitor and trim regularly. It does not calcify as heavily as Halimeda and is easier to handle. Occasional shedding of the outer surface layer is normal.
