Montipora aequituberculata is a plating and encrusting Montipora with small, evenly distributed tubercles on its surface — it develops in overlapping horizontal plates that create real depth in a mid-tank display. Mid-tank placement under high light with medium flow; the plate edges and undersides need circulation or you'll get recession starting at the margins and working inward. The pest to watch for is Montipora-eating nudibranch — small, white, and devastating; they lay eggs on the undersides of plates where flow is lowest, so inspect during water changes and dip all new Montipora frags. Consistent alkalinity and calcium dosing is the care foundation here — growth rate and plate color are both directly tied to chemistry stability over weeks and months.
