Care Summary

Turbinaria peltata grows as a broad, disc-shaped plate — sometimes cupped, sometimes flat — that develops interesting surface texture as it matures and can get impressively large over time. Mid-tank placement under moderate light with medium, turbulent flow; the underside of the plate needs circulation too, so position it where flow reaches both surfaces. Detritus accumulation under and around the plate is the maintenance issue — it creates low-flow dead zones that trap waste and cause recession on the plate edges and underside if left unaddressed. Maintain consistent alkalinity above all else; Turbinaria peltata doesn't ask for much but will show alk instability as bleached patches on the plate margins before other parameters cause visible issues.
