Gold Coast Acans are the working-class reef candy — Micromussa lordhowensis in rich golds and oranges with consistent, well-defined coloration that doesn't fade under normal tank conditions the way some flashy morphs do. Bottom placement with medium light and gentle, indirect flow; acans are shade-tolerant and will bleach if you push them into high-PAR zones that they don't need. The main issue people run into is skeletal recession from neighbors — acans have sweeper tentacles and respond to chemical aggression even when they're listed as peaceful; give them an inch of sand moat around the colony. Target feed each head individually with meaty foods like mysis or LPS pellets once or twice a week for the fastest growth and best color; a fed acan is noticeably fatter and more vibrant within a few weeks.
