Care Summary

Diploastrea heliopora is a dome-forming brain coral with a uniquely honeycomb-like surface texture and some of the most symmetrical corallites of any LPS — it's a structural beauty that gets better with size. Bottom placement under moderate light with medium flow; it's one of the more adaptable brain corals and handles less-than-perfect conditions without rapid decline. Slow growth and a peaceful disposition mean you can place it freely without worrying about it overwhelming neighbors — just don't crowd it where faster-growing corals will eventually shade it out. Occasional target feeding with mysis or reef roids every couple of weeks will accelerate its slow growth rate and reward you with thicker tissue over time.
