Pineapple Coral

Blastomussa merleti is a small-polyped pineapple coral that forms chunky, multi-headed clusters in deep red, green, and bicolor variants — an excellent low-light LPS that delivers real color without demanding much. Bottom placement under low light with low flow; it actively prefers the shaded, calmer zones of a reef that other corals avoid, which makes it a smart choice for filling dead spots. It's peaceful with neighbors but slow to recover from physical damage, so keep aggressive fish and hermit crabs from picking at the tissue between heads. Target feed weekly with small meaty foods — mysis works well; Blastomussa merleti is an active feeder and consistent feeding drives the head-splitting that turns a small frag into a colony.
