Care Summary

The Mimic Tang starts life mimicking the coloration of Lemon or Chocolate Centropyge angels, gaining protection from the angel's venomous reputation; as it grows it transitions to a distinctive adult pattern. House it in 100+ gallons with good flow; mimic tangs are active and need open swimming space to cruise comfortably throughout the day. Feed nori clips and herbivore blends daily; like all acanthurid tangs it needs consistent algae in its diet to maintain color and immune function. It is generally peaceful but can be assertive with other tangs; in multi-tang displays introduce it alongside other species rather than adding it to an already-established tang community.
