Care Summary

Green Long Tentacle Plate is one of the most visually dramatic free-living corals available — Heliofungia actiniformis extends sweeping, anemone-like tentacles that can reach six inches or more and pulse gently with the current in a hypnotic way. Sand bed placement with medium light and medium gentle flow; it needs to sit freely on the substrate and must be able to inflate fully without obstruction — never place it on rock or where flow pins it against a surface. Heliofungia is not beginner-tolerant despite looking approachable — it's aggressive, susceptible to bacterial infection when damaged, and will die quickly if flipped upside down by flow or a clumsy cleaning tool; the advanced rating is accurate. Feed meaty foods directly to the disc two to three times a week when tentacles are extended; Heliofungia is one of the most actively feeding LPS you can keep and it visibly grows faster when fed consistently.
