Care Summary

The Arc Eye Hawkfish is a perch-and-pounce predator; it will sit on a coral head, scan the tank, and eat any shrimp or small fish that crosses its path. House it in 30+ gallons with plenty of high perch spots like coral branches or rockwork; it does not swim constantly and will stress without good lookout positions. It is completely ignore-able by fish its size or larger, but do not pair it with ornamental shrimp, small gobies, or nano fish unless you are comfortable watching them disappear. Feeding is easy: frozen mysis and meaty foods twice a day, and it will be one of your most interactive, bold fish in the tank.
