Care Summary
The Bluestripe Pipefish is technically reef-safe but genuinely advanced; it will starve in most systems because it requires live copepods and amphipods as the foundation of its diet. A mature, heavily refugium-fed tank with a thriving copepod population is the minimum prerequisite; without that, this fish slowly wastes regardless of what you try to offer. Keep it with calm, non-competitive tankmates; any fast feeder like a wrasse or anthias will outcompete it at every feeding, leaving the pipefish perpetually underfed. Do not house it with seahorses unless they are the same species; pipefish will steal food from seahorses and can introduce bacterial infections that devastate a seahorse-only system.
