Care Summary

The Dragon Wrasse has one of the most dramatic juvenile-to-adult transformations in the hobby; juveniles are white with orange streamers, adults are green and brown with a completely different body shape. Juveniles are manageable in a 55-gallon but adults need 100+ gallons and will eat anything that fits in their mouth including shrimp, small fish, and snails. Plan the stocking list around the adult fish, not the juvenile; many reefers fall for the juvenile coloration and then regret the predatory adult their tank eventually contains. Feed meaty foods from day one; mysis, silversides, and meaty pellets keep juveniles growing well, and adults need larger chunks of seafood twice daily to stay satisfied.
