Neon Goby

Care Summary

The Neon Goby is a tiny, electric-blue Caribbean fish that acts as a cleaner in the wild, setting up stations where larger fish present themselves for parasite removal. In a reef tank it will clean tankmates, which reduces parasite load and makes it functionally valuable; pair with a mate and they will clean together and often spawn readily in captivity. House it in 10+ gallons; it is one of the smallest fish in the hobby and a true nano-reef option that works in tanks where almost nothing else would fit comfortably. Feed baby brine and tiny frozen mysis twice daily; it is a small fish with a small stomach and regular small feedings are more effective than large infrequent meals.
