Care Summary
The Threadfin Cardinalfish is a delicate, peaceful schooling species with feathery fins that looks elegant in groups; keep five or more in 30+ gallons for the best visual effect. They prefer low to moderate flow and calm tankmates; any strong current or boisterous fish will push them into permanent hiding where they will eventually stop eating and decline. Feed frozen mysis and small meaty foods twice daily; they are slow, deliberate feeders that will not compete with aggressive species, so target the school during feeding time. A species-dominated or calm community tank suits them best; the threadfin fins are fragile and can be nipped by territorial fish, so avoid housing them with known fin-nippers.
