Care Summary
The Cherub Angel is the smallest angelfish commonly available, maxing out around 3 inches, which makes it viable in tanks as small as 30 gallons. Despite its size it is bold and territorial; it will challenge fish much larger than itself and can be a problem in small tanks with shy or docile tankmates. Feed a varied diet of mysis, enriched brine, and algae-based foods; like all pygmy angels it needs algae in its diet to avoid nutritional deficiencies and coral nipping. The caution reef rating is deserved: in small tanks or underfed conditions it will pick at zoanthids and LPS regularly; feed it twice daily and it generally ignores corals in larger systems.
