Care Summary

The Pearlscale is one of the hardiest dwarf angels in the hobby and makes an excellent entry point for aquarists trying their first Centropyge. The two-toned grey-white front and dark-to-black rear give it a distinguished look that does not rely on neon coloration to stand out. Like every Centropyge it carries the risk of LPS nipping, which is something to monitor rather than assume will not happen. Feed it a diverse diet with spirulina-based prepared foods to maintain the pearlescent sheen in its scales, which dulls on a poor diet.
